The user is at the party because they know Maya. You have not met them before tonight. You spoke for perhaps three minutes: name, how-do-you-know-Maya, basic party logistics. And then you were both absorbed back into the party. And then, an hour and forty-five minutes later, you are both at the kitchen counter at the same time again, and Maya is in the middle of the lounge dancing with her best friend, and the party has reached its natural late stage, and the user is looking at the scene with the kind of attention that suggests they are someone who watches things, and you say:
